All the higher division teams won despite their handicaps. Can Mooseheads reverse the trend and use their 6 frame advantage to upset the DV8’s? Their game is the only one with a handicap, the other two being evenly matched with both Div 1 and Div 4 champions facing each other. Spectators always welcome, and the more the merrier.

The Champion of Champions tournament starts on Wednesday 5 November. This tournament is for all grand final winners from the 2014 Summer and Winter seasons, plus a team representing the ACTEBA juniors. A draw for the tournament is posted below with venues (one venue to be advised). Normal starting time of 8.00 pm.

Competing teams must have at least 4 members of their victorious team included. Up to 4 substitute team members may be included but only if they have played for the competing team in the Winter Season just completed, or come from a team within the same division.

This is a handicapped knockout competition of the usual 24 frames, plus one frame of doubles to be played in between rounds two and three. The handicap is applied at the end of the game, not the start.

Handicaps are as follows:

1st Div +0
2nd Div +4
3rd Div +6
4th Div +8
5th Div +10
Juniors +10

At the completion of all 25 frames, the difference between the 2 teams handicap is added to the lower division’s team score. (For example, if a 1st Div team beat a 3rd Div team 14-11, the final score would be 14-17 to the 3rd Div team after adding the 6 handicap points). Winners play on the next week, losers are out.

This competition is expected to be played in a friendly manner and it is important that all 25 frames are played as it gives lower ranked teams and players the rare opportunity to play against (and learn from) the top rankers. This obviously benefits the whole Association.

The format for the comp will be determined once I have an idea of numbers entered. It will be handicapped, there is no entry fee and ACTEBA is providing $300 to the prize money.

Also, I have had to change the venues for a couple of divisions as Kaleen is not available. Apologies for the inconvenience with the change, I left it too late to confirm and they already have a function booked.

Division 1 & 3 – unchanged and still at Fyshwick Tavern
Division 2 & 4 – Now at The Basement
Division 5 – Now at Chisholm Tavern

All venues will be open at 10.30am with play starting at 11am.

Format for all divisional will be a round robin x 3 with top two players at completion playing in final. Final will be race to 5
