Adjuducators Comp Results

Better late than never, I haven’t had the chance to send out results from last weekends Adjudicators Comp.

There was 18 players and we ran a race to 22 handicapped comp as in format below.

It was a fun day and I would like to congratulate Ann Moimoi for taking out 1st prize.

The prize money was paid down to 4th spot. Jo Lowry picked up 2nd, Paul Berger 3rd and Kathy Harmon 4th.

Once again, a huge thanks to everyone that helped out and adjudicated during the 2014 trials. I hope to have a similar incentive for players during next years trials.

The format will be as follows:

Everyone will draw a number as they arrive which will be the order of the first round of games. . (ie. 1 vs 2, 3 vs 4 etc up to 8 (as we’re using 4 tables)). The winner of each frame will stay on the table and each loser will go to the end of the list to await their next frame. No. 9 will play the first available winner and so on.

Players have been handicapped, mostly according to current rankings, but with some variation according to my discretion. Handicaps are listed below.

The tournament winner will be the first player to reach 22 wins. Prize money will be paid to at least first and 2nd place, 2nd being the player on next highest wins once 22 is reached.

As you know the prize pool is $300 donated by ACTEBA, but it has been suggested that players could increase the prize pool by putting in say $10 each, and then we could pay the top 3 or 4. I will check everyone’s opinion on the day.

Players need to be at Fyshwick Tavern by 12 this Saturday so we start soon after.
