Hi all
Another massive weekend (well not as massive as last weekend, but still…) has been completed in the 2010 Open Singles Trials. With Round One well behind us, the players this weekend were finding that there were definitely no easy frames to be played. But while the standard of play and quality of players was impressive this weekend, just wait until next weekend when the big boys (and lovely lady) come in with the introduction of the seeds. Hi all
Drum roll please…
And now the moment a record 72 of you have been waiting for – the groups for Round Two. With 33 seeds and 72 qualifiers, we still have an unbelievable 105 players left after round one this year. Well done to all qualifiers and good luck for this weekend.
[UPDATE]: The spreadsheet has been updated with adjudicator’s names.
Hi all
While it was a disappointing end to my team’s season last night, next week proves to be an exciting finish to the Summer Competition. Once again the Embalmers and Hammerheads will battle it out for the Division One title – can the Hammerheads break the Embalmers streak of 4 straight premierships?
With two overtimes last night proving just how close the those divisions are, we also see 3 out of the 6 minor premiers miss out the Grand Finals.
Well done to the teams who bowed out last night for a good season and good luck to all the Grand Final teams.
Below are the results from last night and the venues for next week’s Grand Finals (just need to confirm one more venue). Make sure you get along to see the best teams in each division fight out what should be 6 excellent matches.
The 2010 Winter Team Nomination Form is now available from the Docs and Forms page, or via this link:

Please note that team nominations are due at the June meeting.
Hi all
First of all – I was actually organised with these last week and thought they were posted. Then Round One of the Open Singles hit me and I didn’t follow this up. Hope I made up for it with a personal call to each captain…
So for all players interested in attending one of the Preliminary Finals, below are the venues for the matches:
Div One
Fyshwick Tavern Embalmers vs Page Tavern Cage Rattlers @ Labor Club
Div Two
The Maram Scorpions vs Kaleen Pidos @ Fyshwick Tavern
Div Three
Chisholm Tavern vs The Maram Filthy Wanderers @ Ojo Bar & Cafe
Div Four
The Maram Concords vs Lanyon Deep Pockets @ Chisholm Tavern
Div Five
Buffalo Tomtones vs Southern Cross Gringos @ The Maram
Div Six
The Basement Budgie Smugglers vs Page Tavern Islanders @ Kaleen Tavern
Good luck to all teams.
Regards
Chris Jones

Players,
Please find linked below a draft document that seeks to bring the ACTEBA Bylaws up to date with current practices and procedures.
The draft document is open for consideration and comment. The goal is to table the completed document at the June captain’s meeting and approve the changes within.
Please read it over. If you have any questions or comments, use the contact form to get in touch with a committee member.
Hi all
What an interesting weekend to kick off the largest Open Singles title race we’ve ever seen. I’ve only got records dating back 7 years of the ACTEBA’s 21, but even then 7 years ago we had 65 players enter the Open Singles title. This year we had 185!!!! That’s roughly 3 times as many and shows the commitment our members have to improving their game and strengthening the overall skill level of the association. Continue reading
