It is my sad duty today to report the news that Matthew Ward, who previously played with the Kaleen Jets, has lost his battle with cancer. Matt passed away early on Saturday morning.

A service remembering and celebrating Matt’s life will be held at the Mitchell Crematorium at 4.30pm on Tuesday 9 July, followed by a wake at the Gold Creek Country Club.

Our condolences extend to his family and friends.

The 2013 Winter Draw and Team Grading is available:

The draw starts on Wednesday next week. Sorry it’s come out so late, I know a lot of people were waiting for it. I’ve also attached the team grading sheet, so you can see how the teams were allocated to divisions. There are a few less teams this season, so most divisions will have a bye in the draw.

Later this week, I will be sending out a full captains pack, with scoresheets as well as a full players list and hopefully, updated rankings that include the results from last season and the open singles.

Hi everyone

Below are the teams for the state of origin, which will be played on Saturday 22 June, at Fyshwick Tavern. The 5th and 4th division matches will begin at 12 midday, 3rd division and 2nd division will begin around 4pm, and 1st division will begin around 7:30pm.

Each player nominated, including reserves, need to contact the captain of their team by this Friday to advise whether you are available to play. The captain of the Northern Potters is Joe Stephens, the captain of the Southern Guns is Steve Phillips. Both captains’ contact details are on the attached sheet. Even if you are not available to play, please contact the captain to let them know.
