2016 Ladies Doubles Wrap up

Better late than never but I thought I would send out the final results from the 2016 Ladies Doubles Title that was completed in September.

Congratulations to Cindy Blackmore & Nicole Welsh for taking out the 2016 Title. This brings Ann & Les’s 3 year winning streak to an end and is Cindy & Nicole’s 11th ladies Doubles title together. Great achievement.

Cindy & Nicole defeating Kathy Harmon & Penny Foudoulis 7-1 in the Grand Final. Well done to Kathy & Penny on making the final….. this is only the second time they have played together and have made the final both times.

Congratulation also goes to Ann Moimoi & Lesieli O’Connor and Kylie Power & Melissa Chapelli on making the top 4. Full results from the top 4 can be found through following link – Top 4 Results

Well done to all ladies and thank you to all this year’s participants and adjudicators.

Oktoberfest Fundraiser

Hi all,

The time has arrived for all of us to get together and sell pretzels for Oktoberfest! ACTEBA will receive a % of the profits to go towards our fundraising stash.

During the trials I asked people if I could contact them and find out their availability during the weekend 28, 29 & 30th of October. I will contact you all but you can help me by posting your name here if you know you are going to be available. We are just under 2 weeks away from the event and it’s time to put a roster together for Friday night, Saturday (all day) and Sunday (half day).

The shifts will be approx 4 hours long and we need 3-6 people for each shift to cook and sell pretzels. You can organise a group of friends to do a shift with or I can place you in a group. If you have a specific time slot you would be keen to fill then contact me ASAP or post your availability here.
All helpers will receive FREE ENTRY into Oktoberfest & a card with credit to purchase drinks and or food.

Costumes welcome You can also wear your ACTEBA Uniform/shirt

We have a chance to make a decent profit here but we need support from all of our members. The more volunteers we get, the more we can share the work load around.

If you have any questions please let me know at imbalistic03@gmail.com

Thanks,
Lissi

2016 Divisional Championships

The 2016 Divisional Championships is being held on Saturday 5th November 2016.

This event is for the Top 8 Percentage shooters over the year from either the Summer or Winter season. To be eligible players must have played a minimum two thirds a season (32 frames for divisions with 7 teams and 38 frames for divisions with 8 teams).

Click on following link to download qualifiers and venues – 2016-divisional-champ-qualifiers

Venues will open at 10.30am and play will start at 11am sharp.

Please Note: Venues are yet to be confirmed but will be over the coming few days. Also, groups may be shuffled around venues depending on final number or participants in each divisions e.g. the divisions with the lowest number of players will most likely play at Chisholm Tavern as there is only 2 tables.

Players will be contacted directly via Facebook, Email and Text to confirm their availability to play.

Format will be confirmed once players are confirmed. Most likely a round robin x 3 with top 2 players playing in Grand Final.

Champion of Champions 2016

Hi All,

The Champion of Champions tournament starts on Wednesday 26 October and will run for 4 weeks. This tournament is for all grand final winners from the 2016 Summer and Winter seasons, plus a team representing the ACTEBA juniors.

The teams that have qualified are the Embalmers, Crackpots, Kaos, Motley Cues, Dots, Rangers, Screamers, Just the Tip, Shooters and ACTEBA Juniors.

Normal starting time of 8.00 pm.

First week matches:
Motley Cues and Capital Golf Club Shooters have a bye
Embalmers vs Crackpots @ Harmonie German Club
Kaos vs Rangers @ Chisholm Tavern
Just the Tip vs Juniors @ Harmonie German Club
Dots vs Screamers @ Harmonie German Club

Please note that teams can only field players who have been registered to them in 2016. Additionally, competing teams must have at least 4 members of their victorious team included. No other substitutes are allowed.

This is a handicapped knockout competition of the usual 24 frames, plus one frame of doubles to be played in between rounds two and three. The handicap is applied at the end of the game, not the start.

Handicaps are as follows:

1st Div +0
2nd Div +4
3rd Div +6
4th Div +8
5th Div +10
Juniors +10

At the completion of all 25 frames, the difference between the 2 teams handicap is added to the lower division’s team score. (For example, if a 1st Div team beat a 3rd Div team 14-11, the final score would be 14-17 to the 3rd Div team after adding the 6 handicap points). Winners play on the next week, losers are out.

Watch this space for more details to be posted soon.
