This weekends groups for round 2 can be found via the following link. Please note that Chisholm tavern is a 10.30am start, but all other venues are 11am start – Open Trials – Round 2 Groups

Due to not enough 3 table or more venues available and how long some of the round 1 groups took…….. round 2 will remain a round robin x 3 the same as first round (was advertised as round 2 being a round robin x 4).

The top 3 from each group with qualify for round 3 and join the Top 8 seeds to make up the last 32 players.

I’m looking for adjudicators for 6 of the 8 groups…… if you can help out please let me know ASAP.

2017 Ladies Trials – Top 12 Results

Congratulations to Kylie Power, Les O’Connor, Ann Moimoi, Kathy Harmon & Penny Foudoulis in qualifying for the 2017 Ladies State Team. These 5 ladies join Nicole Welsh and Cindy Blackmore to make up the 7 ladies to represent ACT at the Nationals later in the year.

Commiserations to those that didn’t qualify, but well done in making the final 12 in ACT.

Last Saturday the 2017 Ladies Singles title was held at the Harmonie German Club. Congratulations to Nicole Welsh & Cindy Blackmore for reaching the final. The day ran a little late so these Ladies decided not to play the final. This will be played soon at an agreed time which I will advise everyone.

The Ladies trials event started yesterday…. Congratulation to the 12 ladies that have qualified through to the final 12, which is being played this weekend. Click on the following to download list of the Final 12 and the full results from yesterday play – 2017 Ladies Trials – Round 1 Results Also thanks to Ian Stanley for adjudicating quite a long day as well.

The Top 12 is being played at the Harmonie German Club this Saturday and Sunday…… 10.30 am open for an 11am start, format will be a round robin x 4. I expect both days to take around 6 hours, so please expect to finish between 5 – 6pm each day.

Regarding the Trials that Start this Sunday….. The groups won’t be done until Saturday night after the two finalist are determined (as they are excluded from trials). There will only be 2 groups on Sunday and they both will be at the Harmonie German Club. Play on Sunday is 10.30am for an 11am start. Format for Sunday will be a round robin x 3 with the top 6 in each group progressing to the final 12 the following weekend NOTE: it’s estimated to take 7 hours on Sunday based on 15 minutes per frame….. so please allow/expect a long day!
