Wrap-up: 2018 ACTEBA State of Origin Series – Match Two

On the weekend we had the second match of the 2018 ACTEBA State of Origin Series. Heading into round 2 the Southern Guns had the series lead after a comfortable 87-73 win in match 1.

The day started with what seemed like a day that would follow recent formula – The 5th, 4th, and 3rd division Potters would set up a lead and it would be the task of the 1st and 2nd div Guns to overcome it. The day changed course when there were some good fight backs – especially the Div 4 Guns who were down 11-5 at half way to bring it back to 16-16.

Leading into the 1st and 2nd division timeslot the Potters were up by 10 frames, a lead that by previous form of the Guns top tier would be touch-and-go. Both 1st and 2nd division slugged out tight matches, with the Guns taking a 17-15 win in both divisions meaning the Potters held on to come out winners of the match 83-77.

The 2018 series is now tied at 1-1, with the final match to be played on 13th October 2018 – full details to come.

ACTEBA would like to thank the Harmonie German Club for donating venue and On Cue for donating table time throughout the event. Both are long-term supporters of ACTEBA and great days like the State of Origin are made possible by their contributions.

Division Results:
Div 5 Guns: 14 – 18 Potters
Div 4 Guns: 16 – 16 Potters
Div 3 Guns: 13 – 19 Potters
Div 2 Guns: 17 – 15 Potters
Div 1 Guns: 17 – 15 Potters
Total Guns: 77 – 83 Potters

Team Grading Criteria

We will be using Poolstat Live scoring system again this season, Captains and Vice captains will be sent in a separate email with a Pin to access your scoresheet each week (won’t be using the password system like last year as discussed at last night’s meeting). If you are a new Captain and need help with Poolstat, please let me know and I will run through it with you. Remember, Scoresheets won’t be available online until 12pm each Wednesday.

I would ask that all captains ensure their venues are aware the season is starting, and provide them with a copy of the draw so they know when to expect players to show up.

If you have any question or notice any errors, feel free to contact me.

Good luck and hope everyone enjoys the season.

Matt Harmon
