Champion of Champions tournament: This tournament brings together the winners of both 2010 competitions (Summer and Winter) in a handicapped event to determine the ultimate champion for the year. Therefore, the winners from all six divisions last season will join all 6 winners this season in a knockout event over 3 weeks (commencing December 1). All matches are likely to be played at the Maram on Wednesday nights, with more details to come out next week.

Last night, the 2010 Winter season said good bye to the Embalmers, Warriors, Deep Pockets, Gringos, Budgie Smugglers and Balls Deep All Stars, whilst the Hammerheads, Chisholm Tavern, Filthy Wanderers, Concords, Hot Pockets and Road Kill are into the grand final and have next week off. Race to 13

ACT 7 – 13 VIC

The ACT Ladies have finished Australian Runners-Up in a fantastic effort! After sitting at 4-4, the Vics won six straight to lead 10-4, from which position the battle was always going to be hard for our girls.

Congratulations to all the girls on a brilliant Nationals campaign.

A massive effort from the ACT Ladies Team has seen them become the first ACT side to make a National Final! Lead by Captain Les O’Connor and tournament top shooter Nicole Welsh, the girls lead from the front to hold off WA in the 3rd/4th semi final to win 13-10.

In the Preliminary Final, the girls took an even bigger lead to maintain an advantage over Qld and come out winners 13-8.

The Ladies Team play their Grand Final against Victoria tomorrow at 12 midday. The entire ACT Eight Ball Association wishes them luck in what will be a tough match. The girls have shown they can match the best in the country and now it is time to show what they can do. Win or lose, though, they have made us all proud, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves – they’re gonna win dammit!!!

PS I will hold my end of tournament review off by another day…
