A massive effort from the ACT Ladies Team has seen them become the first ACT side to make a National Final! Lead by Captain Les O’Connor and tournament top shooter Nicole Welsh, the girls lead from the front to hold off WA in the 3rd/4th semi final to win 13-10.
In the Preliminary Final, the girls took an even bigger lead to maintain an advantage over Qld and come out winners 13-8.
The Ladies Team play their Grand Final against Victoria tomorrow at 12 midday. The entire ACT Eight Ball Association wishes them luck in what will be a tough match. The girls have shown they can match the best in the country and now it is time to show what they can do. Win or lose, though, they have made us all proud, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves – they’re gonna win dammit!!!
PS I will hold my end of tournament review off by another day…
