2017 Winter Comp Conclusion

Congratulations to last night’s Champions of the 2017 Winter Comp. Commiserations to the Runners-up, but well done on reaching the final. Full results can be found on the finals tab for each division on the following link – League Stats & Ladder Page

I would like to take this opportunity on thanking everyone this season/year for embracing the changes ACTEBA made……. Particularly Poolstat and the change in format for the Singles event. I think most would agree the changes have been successful and Poolstat is a great asset to ACTEBA and brings a new dimension with Live scoring.

Looking forward to next year…….. don’t stress I only have a few tweaks in mind for the singles event, but most things will be the same as this year.

Still a few events to go for the year, which I have listed as a reminder below. I also plan to put a 2018 draft calendar out for comment over the next few weeks, with the aim to lock it in by end of November.

Event reminders:

• ACTEBA AGM – Next Monday the 9th of October. If you would like to have your say on what happens in ACTEBA, please attend. If you can’t, you can provide your proxy to a member of your choice
• Champion of Champions – Starts next Wednesday the 11th October and runs for 4 Wednesday’s. Ann Moimoi will have the draw and details out for this ASAP
• State of Origin – Game 3 – Saturday 14th October – Teams will be out soon and captains will start contact players to confirm availability
• Divisional Championships – Saturday 21st October – Qualifiers list has been published and I will be contacting players to confirm availability over the next week
• Adjudicators Comp – Scheduled for 4th November….. I will be contacting eligible people shortly to confirm the most suitable date for everyone to get as many attendees as possible
• 2017 Australian Championships – 9/11 to 18/11 at Harmonie German Club Canberra – We still need a lot of umpires….. so if you are available to help…… even just for 1 or 2 matches, please contact Steve Phillips

Matt Harmon
