Apologies for the delay in getting the final weekend results out for the 2016 Open Doubles which was played two weeks ago.

On the Saturday the top 8 players played a round robin to determine the final 4 players who would come back on the Sunday to playoff for the State title.
Congratulations to Jakk Phillips/Jason Tanaskovic, Mongrel/James Southwell, Dean Welsh/Matt Harmon and Bob Sifri/Edmund Chen on reaching the Top 4 (Click to download Top 8 results ).
The above 4 pairs returned on Sunday to play a round robin race to 4 and the top 2 playing a race to 7 in the Grand Final. After 2 rounds of the round robin the top 2 were decided being Dean & Matt and Bob & Edmund.
The Grand Final was close all the way, and neither pair could push ahead too much…. after a long couple of days a few of us (me in particular) were struggling to find some form. At 5 each Dean and I managed to get the next two frames and take the title 7-5.
Congratulations to Bob & Edmund in making the final and pushing Dean and I to the last few frames.
