Hi All,
As you may be aware our long-standing ACTEBA president Doug Percy is standing down in September at this year’s AGM. I am also intending to stand down as vice-president.
Accordingly, we will be looking for nominees to fill both positions.
Please give thought as to whether you might like to, and are capable of, filling either of these positions. Certainly the position of President of ACTEBA is too important to be left to ad-hoc nominations on the night of the AGM. We need a motivated, organised person to run ACTEBA, especially as we are to host the AEBF Nationals next year. Do you think you could do the job? If so, we’d love you to nominate. Or perhaps you know another member who you think would make a good president or vice president – have a word to them and get them thinking about it.
I can say from personal experience that the job of vice-president is not too onerous, your main tasks will be organising the presentation night (venue already booked, just details to sort out) and also organising the Champion of Champions tournament. I’ll certainly be happy to give advice and help to my successor.
Of course you are also welcome to nominate for any other executive position, including treasurer, secretary or tournament director – it may be the case that someone in those positions may move to president or vice-president.
