The weekend just gone saw the completion of ACTEBA’s first selection trial for the year. Congratulation to John Pagden on winning the 2016 Masters Singles Title.

John defeated Mongrel in a close final 7-6. This brings Mongrel winning streak of 6 to an end, but great effort on making the final. This was John’s first time playing in the Masters and with the great depth and increased numbers of players it a huge effort winning the Title on first attempt.
Well done to Pete Smith & Richard Bondietti who also made the Top 4 and played well on the weekend.

The first 5 players are selected to represent ACT at the Nationals in Tasmania later this year. Phil Morton finished in 5th place and will join the above top 4 players to make up the 2016 ACT Masters Team.
