Over the weekend we held the Top 8 and Top 4 playoff of the 2015 Open Doubles event. Click through to see full results.
Saturday was the Top 8 which was a close tussle that came down to a playoff for 4th spot. Jason Tanaskovic & Kenny Nicol defeating Edmund Chen & Bob Sifri in the playoff to Join Dean Welsh / Matt Harmon, Mongrel / James Southwell and Mick Norton / Paul Carlile in the Top 4.
The Top 4 returned on Sunday to playoff for the 2015 ACT Doubles Title. After the first two round of the playoff Dean & Matt were through to the final and the winner of Kenny & Jason and Mongrel & James would also reach the final. Kenny & Jason prevailed winning this match 4 -2.
Dean & Matt got off to a good start in the final leading 4 – 0 in a race to 7. Jason & Kenny managed to win the 5th frame, but with a few clearances in the following frames Dean & Matt managed to take the title 7 – 1.
Well done to Jason & Kenny on making the final and also to all players that made the Top 4. It was also great to see a few new faces in the Top 8 which is a big achievement to reach it this far.

This brings a conclusion to the 2015 State Title events, congratulation to all the winners and runners-up. This leaves us with only the final series of the Winter Comp, the Divisional Championships and Champion of Champions to finish up the year. So a little pool left for some members and then the Presentation Night to complete the year on the 12th of December.
