TEAM FEES ARE DUE BEFORE PLAY TONIGHT

Hi Everyone.

A reminder that all team fees are due before tonight’s matches. In the event that a player’s fees have not been paid before tonight’s match then that player will be disabled and you will not be able to select them in poolstat.

Note that there is some human error possible in my determination, so if I have made an error I apologise for that upfront, but would rather make an error and ensure someone has paid rather than not.

CLARIFICATION
There are a number of by-laws dealing with fees and forfeits. 14, 15, and 18. These three by-laws sort of contradict each other so we want to be clear on our stance. We will not forfeit frames that have been played in the first half of the season if a player does not pay their fees on time. That player will become ineligible to play any future frames until they have paid. This is consistent with how the weekly tournament has been run in the past and the core has noted that there is a task to clean up these three by-laws.

OUTSTANDING FEES
I have attempted to contact the players who I currently have listed as not paid their fees, however note that I haven’t been able to contact everyone.

I don’t want to call out any individual names so I have listed teams below, if captains are curious please reach out and I can provide further information.

1x The Firey Shooters
1x Screamers
1x Buffalos
2x Gringos
1x Crackpots
1x DV8’s
1x Felt Rippers
1x Budgie Smugglers
8x Rucoons
3x Team Lish
1x Hurricanes

2020 Summer Season Captain’s Pack

Morning All!

Please see the 2020 Summer Captains Pack on the website here: https://acteba.com.au/wp/?page_id=9336

and some notes on some specific items below.

Next Season

Poolstat PINs will be sent to Captains and Vice Captains over the coming week.

All captains should ensure their venues are aware the season is starting, and provide them with a copy of the relevant draws so they know when to expect players to show up.

If you have any questions or notice any errors, please feel free to contact Graham O’Connell or Ian Stanley.

The Draw
Note that there have been significant scheduling challenges so it has been made as fair as possible but the draw will not exactly resemble what has occurred in the past for some teams (1 home and 1 away game against each team in your division).

For example, you may find that you play the same team at home twice, or away twice this season. However, except for a small number of teams, when combined with all of your other matches you will have the same number of home games as away games.

We expect to get a lot of feedback about this draw however please note that significant discussion and iterations have already taken place to get it to this point which we believe is as fair as possible, so with that taken into account, please still feel free to send through any feedback or thoughts.

Team Gradings
Another item that may cause significant discussion is how we have come up with the team gradings. Basically, this is the process that was followed:
1. Rename all divisions up one (Div 1 becomes Super League, Div 2 becomes Div 1, etc)
2. Apply bye-laws to promote and relegate teams, this was as per normal for all divisions except Super League where we relegated 4 teams to Div 1.
3. Specifically related to Super League, it is a coincidence that the top 4 teams from last season’s div 1 have remained in Super League. As per the Super League proposal the selection was the top 2 from last season’s div 1 followed by the next 2 highest ranked teams for the inaugural season, after the inaugural season it will follow the same promotion / relegation system as other divisions.

Thanks, and play well!
