The venues for the Divisional Championships have been confirmed – top 8 players please note.

Division 1 – Fyshwick Tavern
Division 2 – Ojo’s Café and Bar
Division 3 – Canberra Labor Club
Division 4 – Kaleen Bar and Bistro
Division 5 – Kaleen Bar and Bistro

Competition will begin at 11am on Saturday, and all venues except for Ojo’s should be open for practice from 10:30am. Also, players in Division 1 and 2 should be aware that Fyshwick Tavern and Ojo’s Café have functions on from 6pm, so competition will need to be finished by then.

The format will depend on how many players actually show up to play:

8 players – Two groups of 4 players have a round robin (race to 3). The two winners of the groups will play each other in a race to five final.
7 players – Single round robin (race to 2). The two players with the most wins at the end of the round robin will play each other in a race to five final.
6 players – Single round robin (race to 3). The two players with the most wins at the end of the round robin will play each other in a race to five final.
5 players or less – Single round robin (race to 4). The two players with the most wins at the end of the round robin will play each other in a race to five final.

So far I’ve had no volunteers to adjudicate – I will be running the two groups in Kaleen, so I need three people to run the other venues. It’s a pretty easy job, so if anyone has a spare few hours on Saturday, please get in touch with me as soon as possible.

Hi everyone

Now that we finally have all the score sheets for the Winter competition, I have been able to establish the top eight in each division for the 2012 Divisional Championships. The lists below show who made the cut, and each of these people is now invited to compete in the Divisional Championships, which will occur next Saturday 1 December.

I now need each of the players listed to contact me to confirm your availability to play in the competition on that day. Please either email to TD [at] acteba.com.au or send a text message to 0414 911 457, letting me know whether you will be playing or not. Note that if any player is not available, their spot will simply be left vacant and will not be offered to the next person on the ranking list.

I will be sending out a further email later this week to confirm the venues, date and times, and the format of the competition.
