Congratulations Nicole Welsh on winning the 2015 ACT Ladies Singles Title. This is Nicole’s 4th straight Ladies singles title and 7th in total…… which is a massive achievement.

Nicole defeated Cindy Blackmore 7-6 in a very high standard final which was close all the way. Commiserations to Cindy, but well done on a great effort making her 15th Ladies Singles final (also a very impressive achievement).

Also well done to Kylie Power and Theresa Whitten on making the Top 4. Full results from the top 4 can be found through the following link – Click to view full results

The first half of the Top 12 was played on Sunday……. and they will all be back this Saturday to complete the second half. After playing half the frames of the Top 12 I can tell you it is very close and is likely it will come down to the last few frames to decide the top 4 and State team.

Good luck to the Top 12 on Saturday…… a reminder that Fyshwick Tavern will open at 10.30am with play starting at 11am sharp.

The Top 4 ladies will come back on Sunday at Fyshwick to playoff for the 2015 Ladies Singles Title.

The format for the Top 12 will be a round robin x 4…. half of this will be played on the 24th and the second half will be played the following Saturday on the 30th. Top 12 will be played at Fyshwick Tavern which will open at 10.30am for an 11am start. The top 7 finishers will be selected to represent ACT at the Nationals and the Top 4 will come back on Sunday the 31st to playoff for the Ladies Singles Title.

If any players have any questions let me know.

Good luck to all the ladies.

Congratulations to Ian (Mongrel) Will who took out the 2015 Masters Singles Title yesterday. This is Mongrel’s 6th Straight Masters title which is an amazing effort with a high quality Masters contingent in ACT.

Mongrel defeated Sid Scott in the final 7 – 5. Sid got off to a great start leading 2 – 0, then 4 – 2. Mongrel railed it back to 4 all, but Sid was still up for a fight winning the next frame to make it 5-4. Mongrel lifted his game and played some great pool to turn things around and lead 6-5. The 12th frame was a tight frame and could have went either way. Sid has first opportunity on the black, but unfortunately fouled leaving Mongrel two visits to finish the frame and take the title.

Commiserations to Sid, but great effort in pushing Mongrel and making his first Masters Singles final.

Well done to Jack Dehm & Phil Morton for making the Top 4 in ACT and also to Tolly Auva’a who finished 5th to make up the 2015 Masters team to travel to Albury in October.
