2016 Open Doubles – Round 2 Groups

Congratulations to those pairs that have progress through. Thank you for your patience as well especially the groups playing at a two table venue.

Round 2 is a round robin x 3, with the Top 4 pairs progressing to round 3 (top 16) the following weekend. All groups start at 11am except Chisholm which starts at 10.30am. Not all pairs have got their preferred days, this is only guaranteed for the first round.

Good luck.

2016 ACTEBA State of Origin – Game 3 Update

It seems that some Captains have listed their players address’s wrong which has affected the State of Origin teams. Also, one suburb was listed in the wrong zone which has also affected the team.

So there has been about 8 changes to the teams, either players swapping zones or dropping out of the teams unfortunately.

Click on below link to download corrected teams, you team captains should be in touch soon.

ACTEBA President and Vice President Roles

20 July 2016

Hi All,

As you may be aware our long-standing ACTEBA president Doug Percy is standing down in September at this year’s AGM. I am also intending to stand down as vice-president.

Accordingly, we will be looking for nominees to fill both positions.

Please give thought as to whether you might like to, and are capable of, filling either of these positions. Certainly the position of President of ACTEBA is too important to be left to ad-hoc nominations on the night of the AGM. We need a motivated, organised person to run ACTEBA, especially as we are to host the AEBF Nationals next year. Do you think you could do the job? If so, we’d love you to nominate. Or perhaps you know another member who you think would make a good president or vice president – have a word to them and get them thinking about it.

I can say from personal experience that the job of vice-president is not too onerous, your main tasks will be organising the presentation night (venue already booked, just details to sort out) and also organising the Champion of Champions tournament. I’ll certainly be happy to give advice and help to my successor.

Of course you are also welcome to nominate for any other executive position, including treasurer, secretary or tournament director – it may be the case that someone in those positions may move to president or vice-president.

Thanks for your consideration, look forward to seeing you all at the AGM.

Cheers

Dom Stinziani

A reminder that the Top 4 playoff for the 2016 ACT Singles Title is being played @ The Harmonie German Club tomorrow. Play starts at 12pm and will go through till about 4 – 5pm. I encourage anyone that is available to come down and watch….. last year there was about 20 people watching the Top 4 which created great atmosphere for the days play.

There will be live scores on the net and the link will be sent out just before play starts. I am also aiming to have a live stream of all games via Facebook Live….. so look out for that.
