Note that there are a couple of discussions around the ruleset of the weekly competition and the exact structure of Super League at this Monday, 5th December’s Captains’ Meeting. It is a virtual meeting so I would encourage all who are available to attend. Any changes to the regular order of business will be announced through our regular channels following the meeting.

There will not be any leniency on the late fee – I have set aside time on the 3rd January to get the initial gradings sorted, so be sure to get your entries in early.

The complete Captain’s Pack will follow and be sent out to captains on Monday 9th January.

First matches will begin Wednesday 11th January.

A randomised draw with 4 seeds has been made and this is the Round 3 Top 16 Schedule with play to start at 10am (HGC to open at 9.30am) on Saturday 12th November and continuing on Sunday 13th. The format is a Double Elimination Knockout with scoring on Poolstat.

Round 1 of the Open Doubles is on this weekend, the 29th and 30th of October. Two adjudicators are needed for the Saturday and Sunday groups at the HGC starting at 11am.

Round 2 is on the following weekend, the 5th and 6th of November. Again, two adjudicators are needed for the Saturday and Sunday groups at the HGC starting at 11am.

The format for both weekends is a Round Robin x 3 with scoring done on a laptop on an Excel spreadsheet.

KEY DETAILS

• Registrations only through Eventbrite – do not transfer directly to ACTEBA
• Open to ACTEBA Members
• Entries close 6pm Monday 24th October
• $20 entry per player ($40 per team) + admin fee
• Venues – To be determined based on entry numbers
• Seeds – To be determined based on entry numbers. If there are seeds these will be based on the last two years doubles results

INDICATIVE FORMAT

Round 1 & 2 – Group Stages – Dates 29th/30th October and 5th/6th November

• Round robin x 3
• Teams will play on one day only
• Numbers to progress from each group will be dependent on entry numbers
• Please note: depending on number of entries only one of these two weekends may be required for round robin group play. Teams should be available at least one day on each of the first two weekends.

Round 3 – Top 20 – 11th, 12th and 13th November

• All players/teams play a double elimination knockout
• Friday 11th November Evening session may be required depending on final entry numbers and venue availability

Indicative Schedule

• Play will commence at 11am where possible, but this may vary depending on the venues being used.
• Tables will be open half an hour before the expected starting time for practice.
• Rounds will require approximately 7 to 8 hours to complete.
• There will be no breaks for lunch.
• Initial groups will be published in line with the new dates for the event.
• Groups for following rounds will be published by the Tuesday after each round

Adjudicators will be required throughout the comp!
