Hall of Fame Induction – 2018 ACT Ladies Eight Ball Team
The ACT Eight Ball Association proudly inducts the 2018 ACT Ladies Eight Ball Team into the ACTEBA Hall of Fame, recognising an extraordinary achievement that cemented the ACT as a powerhouse in women’s eight ball on the national stage.
Following their historic breakthrough in 2017—ACTEBA’s first ever Australian Team Title—the ACT Ladies returned to the 2018 Australian National Eight Ball Championships in Albury with renewed determination and a clear message: their maiden title was no accident. Throughout the round‑robin stage, the team maintained strong momentum, finishing equal first on points with Victoria, separated only by four frames.
Their finals campaign demanded resilience. Facing Victoria in the semi‑final, the ACT suffered a heavy 10–3 loss, forcing them into the preliminary final against Queensland. Rising to the challenge, the ACT Ladies delivered a composed and disciplined performance, defeating Queensland 10–7 to earn another shot at the title.
In the Grand Final, the ACT started strongly against a confident Victorian side. Victoria fought back hard, closing the gap and testing the ACT’s resolve, but the ACT Ladies refused to yield. Driven by belief, unity, and the experience of champions, they prevailed 13–10, securing their second consecutive Australian Team Title. This back‑to‑back triumph proved beyond doubt that their 2017 victory was no fluke—it was the beginning of a new era.
