Nicole Welsh was formally awarded Life Membership at our Presentation Night earlier this year; however, she was unfortunately unable to attend, and due to my own workload, I have not been able to publicly share this announcement until now.
It gives us great pleasure to officially welcome Nicole Welsh as the newest Life Member of the ACT Eight Ball Association.
Nicole has been a valued member of ACTEBA since 1992 and has made an outstanding contribution to our association both on and off the table. While her achievements as a player are exceptional, Life Membership is awarded in recognition of dedication, service, and commitment to ACTEBA over many years.
Nicole served as ACTEBA Secretary for 11 consecutive years (2013–2024), making her the longest-serving Secretary in the association’s history. During that time, she played a key role in delivering national events, strengthening relationships within our sport, and ensuring the best interests of ACTEBA and its members were always represented.
She has also helped guide the ACT Women’s Team to three Australian Championships and was the recipient of the Richard Taliaferro Award in 2019.
There are not many elite players who give back to the sport and their association to the extent that Nicole has. Her contribution to ACTEBA has been significant, lasting, and deeply appreciated.
On behalf of the Executive Committee and all ACTEBA members, thank you Nicole for your dedication, leadership, and service to our association.
Please join us in congratulating Nicole Welsh on this well-deserved recognition and welcoming her to the ACTEBA Life Membership Family.
Congratulations Nicole!
